We Care Home Improvements improvements

Home improvement agencies are not-for-profit organisations run by housing associations, local authorities and charities. They can help people who own their own homes, or who live in privately rented accommodation, and who are elderly, disabled, or on a low income to repair, maintain or adapt their home. We provide many different services, listed below, covering Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire.

The road will initially be closed from 25 April for six weeks, we’ll then reopen it for the summer, before closing it again in the autumn. We’ve also closed Oad Street between Woodgate Lane and the A249 so we can start to widen the road, and allow for the new layout at junction 5. Drivers passing under the M2 viaduct northbound on the A249 will see and hear this work as they drive through, as piling is a noisy activity. Improvements to the slip roads and junction approaches at the M2 junction 5.

Work has been ongoing since the funding announcement to produce a preferred layout, which will be the subject of our forthcoming statutory public consultation. You can view the detailed proposals on all three of these elements, including images, in our consultation brochure. Your home improvement is likely to need our permission, so before you start any work, please check through the FAQs below. Once your form has been submitted, a decision will be made and posted to you within ten working days. If you want to make your own improvements you will need to contact us first to make sure these are allowed and that it is safe for you to carry them out. This will help to identify what improvements are needed to help make your home as secure and comfortable as possible – and make sure we achieve the high standards we aim for, as set out by the government.

  • The latest information about this work, can be found on the project webpage.
  • A report is now being prepared by the Planning Inspector for the Secretary of State and we expect a decision on the project at the start of the summer.
  • If your planned improvement is on the list below, please fill out our formand attach any necessary documents to support your proposal.
  • Don’t worry we won’t send you spam or share your email address with anyone.
  • In addition, National Highways has also identified that significant growth planned for this area would require improvements to M5 Junction 10 to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the M5 corridor.
  • Since June 2019 modifications to the scheme have been proposed as a result of discussions with land owners and stakeholders.

If you would like to install your own adaptation, or remove an existing one from your home, you will need to ask for our permission. Unless otherwise agreed with the Hyde Group, the total cost of the work and related expenses will be met by yourself as the tenant of the property. You should receive our written approval prior to commencing any improvement works and keep all receipts, and forward these or copies to the association. Before completing the form you are advised to take a moment to carefully read theguidelines and conditions below. We’re replacing expansion joints, waterproofing and resurfacing them. In March, we constructed some platforms on the northbound and southbound verges of the A249. These were for specialist machines known as piling rigs, which will be helping us to start building retaining walls for the new links to and from the M2. A local authority must give you a disabled facilities grant if you meet the conditions for getting one. If you’re disabled, a local authority must provide application forms in a form you can use, for example, in large print. A local authority can have its own application forms for help, and its own rules about what you have to do to apply for help.
